Pictures of the Scottish Highlands in Winter.
The Highland Day is very short in Winter, owing to the Northerly Latitude, around Seven hours of daylight, and the Weather can be wild, wet and windy, sometimes for weeks, but just occasionally can produce the most intense and amazing light. There will be odd days when the sky is a piercing blue, and all is calm. Snow rarely lies for long in the Western Highlands owing to the influence of the Gulf Stream. Further inland or East, a totally different story !
