Howlin House is said to have inspired Tolkien to write Lord of the Rings, with the view of the mountains of Rum opposite, girdled with mist, when he stayed here in the 1940's.....here it is in Summer with Meadow Flowers in full bloom. Isle of Eigg, Small isles, Scotland.
